To be listed here all you need to do is to know someone - or
just let the guy who does this page (Andrew Grygus) know that you are a
deserving person and your work, community or event is worthwhile - a
little harder if you're a Republican, but not impossible. See the

Scheduled Events
28 January 2012: The theme for this month's gathering will be
music of Heitor Villa-Lobos (5 March 1887 - 17 November 1959). He was Brazil's
greatest composer and perhaps the greatest of all South American composers.
A classical composer, he incorporated Brazillian music into his work, and
sometimes melded it with influences from J.S. Bach. The usual music,
feasting and conversation will commence at 7:00pm.
This event will be held at the Northridge location. For details and
directions see our
Contacts page.
Singer and songwriter, Sleepy has toiled in the music vineyard for more than
40 years...and has no intention to stop now. His latest CD,
"The American Prisoner," featuring 15 original tunes, is available at CD Baby
and iTunes. He's married to literary diva Jennie Webb, but she's over in
Friends.
A former dancer, Robin now does sculpture in stone, semi-abstract paintings,
and custom paintings of sports figures, on canvas, T shirts, soccer balls,
and other appropriate objects (and she might do politicians if the pay was
good). She also does cute little sculptures of pigs.
Robert Walter has pursued a very varied line of work, but has now gravitated
to producing very unusual prints. He takes various found objects, driftwood,
leaves, fronds, bark, seed pods and beach rocks, and in his studio produces
extreme closeups that show aspects of these items that are beyond natural
vision
