Mayonnaise (1)
Tomato Ketchup
Mustard (2)
Lemon Juice
Salt
Tabasco Sauce

Make   -   (12 min)
  1. In a mixing bowl, place Mayonnaise and stir in Ketchup until the color is completely uniform. Stir in all other ingredients.
  2. In a sealed jar in the fridge, it will keep a week or so.
NOTES:
  1. Mayonnaise:

This is a critical ingredient so should be high quality, such as Best Foods Real Mayonnaise (branded Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise east of the Mississippi).
  2. Mustard:

This is Prepared Mustard. I favor Gulden's Spicy Brown Mustard or French's Spicy Brown Mustard. I reject those bright yellow mustards.
  3. Variations:

Some make salsa golf by the original recipe, which is just Mayonnaise and Ketchup. Tomato Sauce can be used instead of Ketchup (less sugar, different taste). A dash or two of Worcester Sauce (salsa inglesa) is very common, especially if Tabasco Sauce is not included. Lime Juice can be used instead of Lemon Juice. Black pepper can be included.
  4. History:

This is called "Salsa Golf" because it is said to have been first formulated at an Argentine golf club by physician Luis Federico Leloir, a Nobel Laureate.
