Cumin Seed
Coriander Seed
Annatto Seed (1)
Oregano, dried

Make:   -   (8 min)
  1. In your Spice Grinder or Mixie, grind everything together.
  2. In a sealed jar away from heat and sunlight, this mix should be good for 6 months.
NOTES:
  1. Annatto:

      These red seeds are frequently used in Latin American and Native recipes. If Annatto is not available, some recipes suggest 1/2 Turmeric and 1/2 Sweet Paprika, or half of each. For details, see our Achiote / Annatto page.
  2. Chili Powder:

      Central America and particularly the Caribbean are divided between chili lovers, those who don't use them, and everything in between. Use your own best judgement as to what powder and how much to use.
  3. Comments:

      Recipes for this Sazón vary not only from country to country but from one household to another. Commercial Sazón, especially Goya brand, are heavily loaded with MSG to cut costs. This sazon uses real ingredients.
