Australia & New Zealand
In matters of cuisine Australia is perhaps most similar to California. In both regions a European base cuisine is rapidly expanding - shamelessly incorporating influences from Southeast Asia, India and China. Though Australia lacks the strong Mexican and South American influences California also enjoys they do have kangaroos and emus.
Meanwhile New Zealand (where men are men and the sheep are nervous) is
following the same culinary pattern but at a rather slower pace. Due to
changes in agricultural laws New Zealand has become a grower and exporter
of exotic fruits and vegetables - it isn't all sheep any more.
