This device is very convenient for grilling many foods with almost no smoke
and conveniently in the kitchen or on the table. It will not, however reach
the temperatures of a gas or charcoal grill can reach, and will not impart
the smoky flavor charcoal will.
The unit it the photo is a Hamilton Beech Electric Indoor Searing Grill which I have used for a couple of years. The grilling surface is non-stick and can get to 450°F/250°C which will create grill marks on a piece of meat very quickly. it's removable grill plate, lid , and drip tray make it very easy to clean. 2026 US $85 There are other fine products on the market as well, at various price points.
There are Asian grills on the market that use a teflon type non-stick coating. They cannot get to high enough temperature to do the job most buyers would expect, in fact they take forever to do practically anything.
