Jonjoli is much favored for celebration tables in Georgia. It is always pickled, and served as an appetizer. Jonjoli has a unique, slightly floral flavor.

jar Jonjoli (1)
Onion, red
Wine Vinegar (2)  
Olive Oil ExtV
Pepper

Since fresh Jonjoli trees don't grow very far from Georgia, we use a jar of pickled Jonjoli imported from Georgia. This recipe will make about 5 appetizer salads.

Make   -   (10 min - 10 min work)
  1. Drain JONJOLI rinse well and squeeze out water.
  2. Chop ONION small.
  3. Mix All Items. Let stand 10 minutes or so, turning a couple of times before serving.
  4. Serve cool.
NOTES:
  1. Jonjoli

      This pickle can sometimes be found in markets serving a Georgian or Armenian community. it will be labled "Georgian Capers". For details see our Jonjoli page.
  2. Wine Vinegar:

      Either Red or White can be used.
  3. U.S. measure: t=teaspoon, T=Tablespoon, c=cup, qt=quart, oz=ounce, #=pound, cl=clove in=inch ar=as required tt=to taste
